Meet Gregory Miller of Green and Growing Landscaping, Inc.
He's been a CLCA member for two years, but is a veteran in
the landscaping business.Greg began his career in 1990, spending seven years with Harmonic Landscaping of Santa Cruz as a maintenance crew leader. He worked for a year with Prime Landscapes Inc. as an installation foreman, then another year with Coastal Evergreen Landscapes Inc. as an irrigation technician.
Greg studied in the Horticulture program at Cabrillo and speaks highly of Jerry Allison's Landscape Construction class and Lisa McAndrews' Plant Identification class. He also enjoyed taking seminars at the 2001 Landscape Industry Show in
Long Beach. The last three years he has operated his own business in the Live Oak area of Santa Cruz. Greg's areas of specialty in his business are irrigation. woodwork, and stonework. He most recently completed a major project at the Kell residence in Rio Del Mar that included plant installation, dry set flagstone, irrigation upgrading and low voltage lighting.
Green & Growing incorporated a year ago, resulting in a deluge of paperwork that necessitated hiring a permanent business bookkeeper. Fortunately, Michelle Allen of AIM, a certified QuickBooks advisor, came to his rescue.
Greg has been married to his wife, Martha, for three years. Their son, Nicholas, celebrated his first birthday earlier this month.
Music and the outdoors occupy most of Greg's leisure time. He enjoys hiking, camping, mountain biking, surfing and snowboarding. He's played the drums for 23 years and is currently playing with a new band and working on recording a CD. Greg can be reached at (831) 465-0144" or gregory@greenandgrowing.com
